The following is what I would consider to be the core of the published World of Greyhawk. I wish I had such a list when I first began to be interested in Greyhawk. It wasn't too hard to figure out once I did some research, but I figured I would share my findings. There are a lot of products that have been printed under the Greyhawk label, but the essence of Greyhawk from which they are all derived are all listed here.
The World of Greyhawk is a fantasy setting and series of gaming scenarios which was developed hand-in-hand with the original Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game by Gary Gygax. Thus, a prerequisite for really understanding Greyhawk is a familiarity with the original Monster Manual (1977) and Players Handbook (1978).

The Village of Hommlet (WG1) by Gary Gygax 1979 |
Gives you a great town in which to base your adventures. Oozing with Greyhawk flavor in every corner; really showcasing it. The Temple of Elemental Evil (WG2) by Gary Gygax and Frank Mentzer 1985 |
Another of the great dungeons of the World of Greyhawk, and perhaps the most essential to this period of Greyhawk's development. A large and fantastic dungeon. Involves Iuz, Zuggtmoy, Thrommel and many of Greyhawk's famous characters mentioned in World of Greyhawk in its action. |

Isle of the Ape (WG6) by Gary Gygax 1985 |
Most of the action takes place on a demi-plane accessible from Castle Greyhawk (the greatest of dungeons--still unpublished), but it still introduces some important ideas. Iggwilv is still alive and consorting with demons. Meet Tenser personally in his castle on the Nyr Dyv, and receive his aid in your quest. The Crook of Rao is also introduced. |
